(1) Complete WEA micro-credential orientation to learn about the process and select a micro-credential. Complete orientation ONCE.

(2) Register for an NEA micro-credential https://nea.certificationbank.com/Washington/WEA/StackLibrary_WEA.aspx AND register for WEA clock hours for the specific NEA micro-credential you selected. (You are registering for WEA clock hours on this page.)

(3) Complete the WEA micro-credential workshop EVERY TIME you are working on a new micro-credential.

Course Description
Educators will reflect on their practice to improve personal effectiveness in the classroom. Educators know that reflection is a key component of sound instructional practices and should be embedded as part of ongoing evaluation of instructional practices. They recognize there are a variety of reflective practices and apply them continuously to improve the effectiveness of their practice. They understand that application of these practices has a positive effect on the classroom culture and student outcomes. Types of Evidence Required: Written artifact, 2 SMART Goals, Written artifact.

Course Objectives

Educator uses research and best-practice recommendations to participate in ongoing reflection. Educator uses evidence to continually evaluate their practice, creates practices to meet the needs of each learner, and understands that reflection on practice has a positive effect on learning and classroom culture.
