Clock Hour FAQ's

How do I access my WEA clock hour transcript?

After you have completed a course, you will receive the evaluation for that course within two weeks. After you have completed that course evaluation, click on your profile in the upper right-hand corner of WEA-WIN and select “My Transcripts.” You will then be able to download your WEA clock hour transcript.

If you are seeking documentation for WEA clock hours earned in previous years or outside the WEA-WIN system, please contact weapd@washingtonea.org

What do I do with my clock hours?

In Washington state, clock hours serve two separate purposes. At your district level, clock hours are used for salary placement, and at the state level, clock hours are used for certificate renewal. You will need to report your clock hours to both your district and the state.

At the district level, there is generally a deadline to submit clock hours for salary placement sometime in the fall. Contact your district HR office or local association for questions on clock hours for salary placement.

At the state level, you must enter clock hours for certification into OSPI eCertification. Washington state educator certificates expire on June 30 of the particular year, and you must earn, enter, and apply for certificate renewal by that date. For questions on how to enter clock hours into eCertification, or what is required for certificate renewal, please contact the OSPI Certification Office at cert@k12.wa.us or (360) 725-6400. You might also consider attending WEA’s Teacher or ESA Certification trainings—please see the Events tab of WEA-WIN for current offerings.

Is WEA a state-approved clock-hour provider?

Yes, WEA is a Washington state clock hour provider, approved by the Professional Educator Standard Board (PESB) through the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI). WEA is also approved by OSPI to issue clock hour transcripts.

Does WEA offer courses meeting the Equity, STEM, or Leadership certificate renewal requirements?

Yes, WEA offers courses that meet all three of these certificate renewal requirements. To find current offerings, please see the “Events” tab of WEA-WIN, and then under “Areas of Interest,” select Equity, STEM, or Leadership.

How do I know which courses in WEA-WIN are being offered for clock hours?

Courses approved for clock hours in WEA-WIN are noted with an icon and designation next to the course description:  [Stopwatch with solid fill] Clock Hour.

Non-clock hour courses are listed on the events tab under “Non-clock hour,” and the designation “Non-clock hour” also appears next to the course description.

Transcripts are issued for clock-hour courses, and a separate Training Record is issued for non-clock-hour courses.

How do I access clock hours issued by other organizations?

If you completed a course offered by another organization, such as your district or ESD, you will need to contact them directly for your clock hours. Many ESDs use pdenroller.org, which is not connected to the WEA system. Find a list of Washington State approved clock hour providers
