Terms & Conditions of Registration

Membership Verification and Account Creation Process

Participants must be accepted as either a Washington Education Association (WEA) member or nonmember by WEA-Washington Instructional Network (WEA-WIN) before signing a Registration Agreement (described below) with WEA-WIN. To be accepted, the participant must complete all steps and requirements within the account verification and creation processes. Participants must receive an official Account Confirmation email before completing the Registration Agreement process.

Participant Identification Verification Policy

WEA-WIN adheres to a Participant Identification Verification policy to comply with regulations requiring verification of a participant’s identity within a distance education course or program. WEA-WIN has established processes to verify that a participant registered in a course or program is the same participant who participates in and completes the course or program and receives a certificate of completion. The Participant Identification Verification policy is applicable to all WEA-WIN participants from the membership verification and account creation process through all course completions for which a participant is responsible.

WEA-WIN uses the following nonexclusive methods to verify the identity of participants enrolled in the distance education programs:

A. Union Membership Verification

Participants will provide their first name, last name, and month and day of birth to verify their union membership.

B. Individual: Participant ID, Secure Login, and Password

Participants are assigned a participant identification number upon creating an account. Participants will establish a secure login by using a non-work email address of their choosing and a secure password of their choosing. These assigned identifiers are used to access WEA-WIN’s learning management system (LMS) where participants complete assignments and coursework.

Any misuse of accounts (including sharing account information with another individual, attempting to obtain or obtaining an account for malicious use, and false identification or attempted false identification) shall be a violation of the Terms and Conditions of Registration and/or Use. Such violations may result in account suspension, account deletion, loss of registration fees, loss of graduate credit through WEA WEA-WIN partner universities, and possibly legal action.

C. Identification by Instructor

Instructors will verify participant identity on the first day of instruction using the name on the identification provided at the time of admissions and registration.

Pre-Registration Disclosures

Before signing a Registration Agreement, the participant must receive the following information and understand all terms and conditions associated with registration at WEA-WIN registration policies; refund information; terms of use policies; copyright policies; and privacy policies.

Registration Agreement for Educational Services

The WEA-WIN Registration Agreement is an agreement for educational services provided by WEA-WIN. To activate and maintain registration, the participant must acknowledge the Registration Agreement, which then must be accepted by an authorized employee of the Washington Education Association. The Registration Agreement becomes legally binding when acknowledged by the participant and accepted by the institution.

Registration & Fees Payment Policy

Participants will pay registration fees upon adding event selections to their carts. Participants will be responsible for procuring any required materials for the classes in which they choose to enroll.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

A participant has the right to request a course or program cancellation two weeks prior to the event. Participant may process their cancellation requests through their My Events page on the WEA-WIN site. If participants have questions regarding cancellations, they may contact the following address:

Email to weapd@washingtonea.org

To expedite your request, please include your first and last name, the event title and date for which you want to cancel your registration, the transaction ID and amount to be refunded from your receipt.

If a participant chooses to withdraw from a course or program, the participant is responsible for adhering to WEA-WIN policies and procedures regarding withdrawal and cancellation.

Cancellation Period & Withdrawal Policy

Event registration cancellations are granted until two weeks prior to the event start date. If a participant makes the decision to cancel from his or her event two weeks prior to the event, WEA-WIN will provide the participant a full refund. Refunds are credited to the credit card with which they were purchased. If a participant makes the decision to cancel from his or her course or program within the two weeks prior to the event cancellation period, the participant will not receive a refund. If a participant makes the decision to withdrawal from his or her course or program after the event starts, the participant will not receive a refund.

For WEA-WIN purposes, participants are considered "withdrawn" when we receive cancellation notification via email to weapd@washingtonea.org.
