Course Description

The course integrates all areas of STEM in each meeting of the class, covering all the state standards for science and math while demonstration the integration of the two and while applying the NGSS Science and Engineering standards. As a part of a project based curriculum exploration, participants will also spend ample time learning about and investigating multiple technological tools and career connections.

Course Objectives

- Participants will learn about and consider classroom applications of Next Generation Science Standards (including Engineering Practices), Common Core State Standards for Mathematics, Computer Science Standards

- Participants will engage in learning experiences designed to encourage and provide ideas for Project Based Learning, Hands-On learning, Bock Based Coding, Technology STEM integration tools

- Participants will investigate and collaborate over the link between equity, access and STEM integration for our students

- Participants will learn about Inclusionary Practices through the lens of Universal Design for Learning with a focus on recognizing and solving barriers for their students

- Participants will create and share a STEM and Inclusionary Practices-aligned lesson or unit plan that includes a career connection
