Course Description
This course is tailored for educators, mentors, and instructional leaders who play a critical role in guiding co-teaching teams within inclusive learning environments. Participants will examine how foundational frameworks—such as Universal Design for Learning (UDL), High Leverage Practices (HLP), and Specially Designed Instruction (SDI)—intersect to support equitable and inclusive education. Throughout the course, attendees will explore effective ways to cultivate collaborative teaching relationships, define and balance responsibilities among co-teachers, and leverage individual strengths for team success. Practical tools and approaches for co-planning, communication, and shared instructional design will be introduced. Participants will also learn how to engage in effective coaching conversations grounded in real-world co-teaching scenarios, using these dialogues to navigate challenges, strengthen collaboration, and ultimately support student success and inclusive practices. By the end of this course, participants will have developed a deeper understanding of how to mentor co-teaching partnerships with purpose, promote equity-driven practices, and enhance student inclusion through intentional collaboration.Course Objectives
