Course Description

Spokane EA cohort support program participants will have an opportunity to participate in a workshop facilitated by NBCT, OSPI trained facilitator(s) along with other candidates. This session will review important information focused on Component 1, Content Knowledge Assessment. Candidates engage in discussions around their certification area standards and in purposeful analysis of the prompt descriptors. Through these activities, candidates self-assess knowledge to determine strength and growth areas. Candidates also learn about constructed response items and selected response items as they pertain to their specific certificate areas. Assessment ethics, procedures, appointments, and general overview are also included.

Course Objectives

Participants should be able to understand the requirements of each component, including its scoring process. Participants will understand how the Assessment Center questions link to the National Board Standards. Participants may have supported time to work and apply the knowledge gained from facilitators and peers.
