Event Information

In this course, participants will engage in a hands-on and interactive class to learn about and utilize the Common Core State Standards for Mathematics and use these ideas to explore connections with the NGSS science standards. Integrated with this information will be the introduction of technology tools such as coding robots and online websites to enhance STEM instructions for all grade levels and school roles. Participants will leave this course with an integration plan for their upcoming lessons or units that blends science, math, technology and career connections. This class is appropriate for elementary through high school educators in a variety of roles!

Course Description

Course Objectives

Participants will learn about the Common Core State Standards for Math

Participants will find links between the NGSS and CCSSM

Participants will analyze upcoming lessons and collaborate on ways to supplement math and science into existing curriculum

Participants will be introduced to a variety of technology tools

Participants will reflect on how technology tools can be used to create STEM career connections and create some connections for upcoming units
