A WEA Canvas asynchronous course is a type of learning experience in which participants can access and engage with course materials at their own convenience without being required to attend live sessions. This format is designed to provide flexibility for learners with varying schedules or commitments. These courses are self-paced and can be started/completed on your own time.
This eLearning course is based online training modules developed by the IRIS Center. The IRIS Center is a national center dedicated to improving education outcomes for all children, especially those with disabilities birth through age twenty-one, through the use of effective evidence-based practices and interventions. The course include completing the online modules, assessments, and assignments.
This course is comprised of one module, one assessment, and four assignments.

Course Description
This asynchronous course explores the principles of differentiated instruction and how student readiness, interests, strengths, and learning profiles influence instructional planning. Participants will learn how to differentiate content, process, and product to provide multiple pathways for student success while maintaining high expectations for all learners. The course examines how differentiated instruction increases access, engagement, and inclusion by responding to diverse student needs and experiences. Participants will explore how ongoing collaboration with students, families, and colleagues informs instructional decision-making and supports equitable learning opportunities. Through self-paced online modules, reflection activities, discussion with the instructor and peers, and applied learning tasks, educators will develop practical strategies for creating responsive and inclusive learning environments.Course Objectives

Describe the key principles and components of differentiated instruction.
Analyze student readiness, interests, strengths, and learning profiles to inform instructional planning.
Differentiate content, process, and product to increase access, engagement, and learning for diverse learners.
Design learning experiences that provide multiple pathways for students to access, engage with, and demonstrate learning.
