Climate Change & Environmental Justice: Climate Change 101 (15 clock hours)
In order to earn clock hours for NEA micro-credentials, you need to:
(1) Complete WEA micro-credential orientation to learn about the process and select a micro-credential. Complete orientation ONCE.
(2) Register for an NEA micro-credential https://nea.certificationbank.com/Washington/WEA/StackLibrary_WEA.aspx AND register for WEA clock hours for the specific NEA micro-credential you selected. (You are registering for WEA clock hours on this page.)
(3) Complete the WEA micro-credential workshop EVERY TIME you are working on a new micro-credential.

Educators will learn about and share the causes, impacts, and solutions of climate change. Types of Evidence Required: Mission and Vision statement, Climate Awareness project (with students) or Policy Research.Course Objectives
Educators will learn and read about climate change—its causes, evolution, and impact, and the policies, approaches, and movements to combat it. Educators will then make connections between a worldview and local actions. They can also create a project-based learning experience to develop ecological awareness, or research a policy or movement related to climate justice, climate change, and the protection of nature or natural resources.
