Course Description
Participants will cultivate a growth mindset when working with students who experience social, emotional, and behavioral needs. They will learn about the different lens of behavior and high leverage practices for supporting students with social, emotional, and behavioral needs in inclusive classrooms. The use and understanding of high leverage practices for supporting students with social, emotional, and behavioral needs in inclusive classrooms will assist in identifying the root causes and different functions of behavior. Finally, participants will walk away with a mindset that allows them to build successful relationships, develop visual and spatial resources, and utilize effective feedback to foster student success.    This course is asynchronous through Canvas.

Course Objectives

Participants will be able to…

· View behavior through different lens. (I.E. Culture, Implicit/Explicit bias, Ladder of Inference, ACE’s, Disproportionality and Relationships) (Understanding Self and Others)

· Cultivate a growth mindset to improve student academic and behavioral successes. (Understanding Self and Others)

· Learn, apply and increase high leverage social and emotional practices to address the needs of all students learning. (Understanding Self and Others)

· Develop an understanding of behavior, functions and their importance. Describe how the course content is aligned to your targeted. (Understanding Self and Others)
