Join us on March 31st and April 1st from 4:30 to 7:30 PM to learn how this course focuses on specific teaching strategies to increase the depth of development of young children’s social-emotional skills.
Along with the “why,” this course will demonstrate and walk participants through how they can teach social-emotional skills throughout the day using Universal Design and strategies that intentionally target and embed specific social-emotional skills across an early childhood student’s day.
This course provides up to 6 equity clock hours, as social-emotional skills are influenced by cultures and are just as diverse as cultures. Diversity is an asset; every student is an asset.
Course Objectives for Participants:
● discuss their relationship to Social Emotional Learning. (CCDEI Standard 1)
● be exposed to and discuss research connecting social-emotional learning/skills to future learning success. (CCDEI Standard 1)
● develop a deeper understanding and meaning when teaching social-emotional skills (CCDEI Standard 1)
● be able to list and identify the 4 areas of social-emotional learning. (CCDEI Standard 3)
● be able to identify 2+ evidence-based teaching strategies for teaching social-emotional skills in each of the 4 areas of social-emotional learning. (CCDEI Standard 3)
● be able to create a lesson plan that braids and embeds target social-emotional skills across the day. (CCDEI Standard 3)
