Course Description

This course introduces five social and emotional (SEL) competencies as well as specific strategies that can be implemented in various educational settings. The course also touches upon the concept of emotional intelligence and how it can be used to guide one’s thinking and actions.

Course Objectives

Participants will:

• Gain an understanding and appreciation of social and emotional learning concepts, practices and their importance in educational spaces

• Examine five SEL competencies and comprehend how each one can be utilized

• Reflect on learning and set goals to apply new information in their educational practices
