Inclusive Leadership: Coaching and Mentoring for Educators Supporting Students with Intellectual Disabilities

Course Description
This course is designed for coaches, mentors, and teacher leaders who support educators working with students with intellectual and developmental disabilities in inclusive settings. Participants will gain access to tools and strategies to increase inclusive practices for all students using effective coaching techniques. This course requires active participation, including practicing coaching conversations and role-play scenarios during breakout sessions.

Course Objectives

Participants should be able to…

*understand the characteristics of a coach and of a mentor

*build awareness of equity and civil rights issues around inclusion and intellectual and developmental disabilities

*share tools and resources to facilitate student success

*gain familiarity with specific coaching rubrics focusing on equity and inclusion
