Designed for those just beginning the National Board Certification journey, this introduction provides a solid overview of the process. Learn how two NBPTS foundational documents – The Five Core Propositions and The Architecture of Accomplished Teaching – undergird the philosophy and structure of the entire program. Opportunities will be provided for collaborative unpacking of these two frameworks, as well as learning how to navigate the NBPTS website. Outside readings may be assigned. The Foundations Course is a prerequisite for Components One, Two, Three, and Four, and for those receiving the OSPI conditional loan. (If you attended the WEA Jump Start Program, you do not need to take the Foundations Course.) Cost is $115, with payment to be made directly to Edmonds EA.
